Amber Campbell gets bronze at Pan Am Games

Amber Campbell has captured the bronze medal for the United States at the Women's Hammer Throw at the Pan-Am Games in Guadalajara, Mexico. Campbell's throw of 69.93 meters (229 feet, 5 inches) was just seven inches behind Canada's Sultana Frizell for the silver medal. Cuba's Yipsi Moreno won the gold medal.

Campbell was an Olympian in 2008, finishing 21st in the Beijing Games. Her best international result was an 11th place finish at the World Championships in 2009. After graduating from Coastal in 2004, Campbell has been competing on the international stage and is expected to represent the United States in the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
